COVID-19 Task Force Reisa Broto Talks about Face Masks

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian COVID-19 task force communication team member, Reisa Broto Asmoro, on Wednesday said that the correct lifespan of using a face mask is four hours, anytime above that must be replaced with new or cleaner ones.
“Face masks can only be used for a maximum of four hours before it is replaced with a new one or an unused one,” said Reisa in a written statement today.
The newly appointed COVID-19 task force team member said that wet or damp face masks must also be replaced, which is why she suggests people to always keep spares wherever they conduct outdoor activities.
She also reminded people that picking the correct type of face mask is essential as it determines the safety level against COVID-19 and other germs. A proper face mask for health usage encompasses the nose, mouth, and chin area.
Reisa Broto Asmoro also talked about the correct procedure to remove a face mask, which she reminds must not be done by pulling or touching it but rather pull the strings loose from the back of one’s head.
