  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invites the people to a virtual tour of two Sumatran orangutans at Ragunan Zoo, named Ratna and Dio, through a video on its Instagram account @ragunanzoo, Sunday, May 31, at 09:00.

“Ratna and Dio want to greet you, but since you can yet to go on vacation even during Eid holiday, you can see Sumatran Orangutan through Instagram live,” Anies posted on his Instagram account on Saturday, May 30.

The Ragunan Zoo previously stated that it hadn’t yet received any guidelines regarding the reopening of the tourist destination in the new normal. “The new normal concept will be discussed internally this week,” said Ragunan promotion head, Ketut Widarsana when contacted on Thursday, May 28.

He said that Ragunan would definitely implement Covid-19 health protocols such as body temperature checking, physical distancing, and the mandatory use of face mask for staff and visitors.

In addition, the zoo would limit the number of daily visitors. “We’ll discuss how many visitors can enter,” Ketut said.

Ragunan Zoo, he went on, always maintains to entertain people through animal show virtually every week through Instagram live feature on its official account @ragunanzoo.
