TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fire broke at a house in Serdang 4 Street in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta this morning, May 21, at 07:35. The house that caught fire had been used for a home industry.
"Seven fire trucks were dispatched to the location to put out the fire. But it was difficult to find water sources there, and the narrow street made it difficult to reach the building," Paino, Central Jakarta Fire Brigade officer, said in his written statement, Thursday.
Despite the obstacles, Paino made sure that the fire had been extinguished. The fire also did spread to other houses around the building.
"There were no casualties in this incident," he said.
The Jakarta Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire. They have not made an assessment of the damages caused by the incident.
Meanwhile, South Sumatra's Wajo Regency on Wednesday was hit by a flash flood, inundating more than 1,000 houses, four schools, a health facility, and 175 hectares of rice fields.
