TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Achmad Yurianto, the spokesman for Indonesia's Covid-19 Task Force, said that the government is making studies and various scenarios for the relaxation of large-scale social restrictions, known as PSBB. He stressed that the relaxation hasn't started yet.
"Please do not interpret [my statement] as [announcing] the start of PSBB relaxation," he said at the BNPB building in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 20.
According to Yurianto, the studies and scenarios refer to each province and district/city, each with different characteristics.
One thing for sure, he said, the government will only ease social restrictions if they are sure that the containment of Covid-19 transmission is under control.
Yuriano said that relaxing social restriction without ample considerations would only cause the new coronavirus to spread further. He appealed to the public to stay at home and always adhere to health protocols.
