Opposing Groups to Attend Hearing on Munir

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta : Two groups of people will attend the proceeding of Munir case at South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday. The court was trying the former intelligence officer, Muchdi Purwoprandjono and his supporters who called themselves Indonesia Red and White Brigade planned to show their support.

The opposing side, The Coalition of Solidarity for Munir were also planned to be at the court.

Munir a human rights activist was killed on a Garuda Indonesia flight to Amsterdam on September 7th 2004.

Trials on the case, involving several national intelligence officer, were started in 2005 and one Garuda pilot Pollycarpus Budihari have been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
