TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is reportedly gathering evidence for alleged corruption in the state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) and will soon name suspects.
“We will announce the suspects once an arrest is made,” said KPK acting-spokesperson Ali Fikri on Monday, May 18.
Ali did not detail when the arrest, or arrests, would be made but assured that investigators are still gathering evidence and questioning witnesses to further help its case against PT DI.
KPK’s inability to announce suspect details abides by the new rules set by its latest chairman, Firli Bahuri, who maintains to only reveal suspects after an arrest is made.
This is the main difference compared to how the anti-graft watchdog worked prior to Firli’s arrival where KPK would make announcements right after investigators signs the notification letter to begin an investigation (SPDP).
