TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The country’s annual automotive festivity known as the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2020 is confirmed to be canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This confirmation was announced by the president director of IIMS' event organizer PT Dyandra Promosindo, Hendra Noor Saleh, today.
“We have taken this step to put forth the interests of the majority, mainly from the health aspect and to further help the government break the chain of transmission of this unbelievable virus,” said Hendra Noor in his official written statement Tempo obtained on Friday.
According to him, the event organizer fully understands the situation currently faced by the Indonesian automotive market that has been weakened by the magnitude of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also understands that the focus of automotive brands and the industry as a whole is to conduct efficiencies and internal market recoveries.
“However, IIMS remains committed to supporting automotive brands’ sales programs and aftermarkets, which shall continue to echo in 2020,” he said.
PT Dyandra Promosindo has decided to hold the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in February of 2021, which will take place in the usual venue, the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran in Central Jakarta.
