TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is set to impose a policy on Flexible Working Space or FWS for her ministry’s employees after the coronavirus pandemic ends. With this rule, the ministry officials are allowed to work from anywhere, be it joint working spaces, places supporting FWS facilities, and even their respective homes.
According to Sri, this new system is a dynamic form emerged in the wake of the pandemic. Under unusual circumstances, she added, people are forced to adapt quickly.
“This change has also pushed us to make important breakthroughs about the way we work in the future; adopting FWS as a new normal after a pandemic,” said Sri via her Instagram account on Friday, May 15.
In addition, FWS will support the ministry to regulate the number of people in a meeting room by utilizing technology. This way, she said that a new work culture will be developed within her Ministry.
Sri Mulyani further hopes that the privilege can encourage employees to be more productive. However, there are certain criteria and conditions of those who are eligible to practice the FWS.
The workers must obtain a good working performance, not under investigation or having discipline sanctions, and can work independently, can communicate effectively, and be responsible and responsive.
