TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A post on Twitter went viral as it shows a screen capture of a doctor's note declaring a person free of Covid-19 being sold online. The note is being offered via an e-commerce platform in Indonesia.
Twitter user @DokterPodcast posted the photo on Thursday, May 14. The piece of paper has the letterhead of Mitra Keluarga Gading Serpong Hospital. The Covid-free letter is sold for just Rp70,000.
The photo also shows the phone number to contact the seller via WhatsApp as well as the blog site address suratdokterindonesiaaa.blogspot.com. Tempo tried contacting the number. But there has been no reply.
Meanwhile, the website offers numerous types of doctor's notes, from a regular sick note, dentist's note, even ophthalmologists. The blog 's last update was posted in December 2019.
The website also offers blank notes with a doctor's signature and a hospital or clinic stamp.
Tempo contacted Mitra Keluarga Gading Serpong Hospital for information, and the customer care officer said the management will make a statement soon.
