TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor Regency Government has decided to extend the Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy for 14 days, until May 26, or after the coming Eid al-Fitr.
“Based on the results of the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda), we have agreed to extend the PSBB, as we want to continually anticipate the movement of people in the Bogor Regency,” said spokesperson for the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Syarifah Sofiah, in Bogor, on Monday, May 11, 2020.
With the second period of Bogor PSBB initially set to end on May 11, 2020, the third period of Bogor PSBB has been applied for by Regent Ade Yasin, along with other regional heads of the Bodebek (Bogor, Depok, Bekasi) area, to the Ministry of Health.
During the third Bogor PSBB period, the Bogor Regency Government is set to conduct COVID-19 swab tests and rapid tests more intensively.
“So, we want to be more optimal. Moreover, Eid al-Fitr will be coming shortly; if we do not extend the (PSBB period) public activity will surely increase. We need to anticipate that,” Syarifah explained.
In addition, the third Bogor PSBB period will also see officers on the streets supervising the enactment of the PSBB taking firmer actions against PSBB violators, as the regional government now has full authority to take action.
“We will also no longer be held up in carrying out sanctions, as we have been approved of by sanction holders,” Syarifah added.
