TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration reasserts that it will sanction people who violate the city’s large-scale social restrictions or the PSBB protocol, which is overseen by the Jakarta Governor’s Decree No.41/2020.
The regulation was ratified by the governor on April 30th specifically to handle PSBB violators, especially as the central government is striving to break the chain of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.
The third chapter overseeing people’s outdoor activity restrictions requires people to wear face masks as they conduct outdoor activities.
Article 4 (1) reads, “Those who do not abide by the face mask requirement in public facilities during the PSBB will be sanctioned.”
Meanwhile, administrative sanctions will also be applied ranging from Rp11,000-250,000 fines. Other sanctions include written warnings, and social work of cleaning public facilities that will be supervised by the police or the Jakarta Public Order (Satpol PP) agency.
