TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Depok City Government, West Java, is currently preparing criminal sanctions for violators of the enactment of the Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy.
“To complete the enforcement of PSBB rules, Depok Mayor Regulation Number 32/2020 has been issued concerning the Amendment of Mayor Regulation Number 22/2020 concerning the Implementation of PSBB in Handling COVID-19 in Depok," said Mayor of Depok, Mohammad Idris, in a written statement, on Tuesday, May 6, 2020.
Since May 4, 2020, aside from criminal sanctions, violators may also receive administrative sanctions in the form of oral reprimands, written warnings, disbandment of crowds, or suspension of activities administered by the Depok Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).
In addition to penning the Mayor Regulation, Idris has also issued Depok Mayor Instruction Number 3/2020 concerning the ‘Care for Neighbors’ (Nyaba Tetangga Online) program, which stipulates for Sub-District Chiefs to involve their community in the program.
The ‘Care for Neighbors’ program invites members of the community to greet each other online and to provide emotional support or necessary assistance, in accordance with COVID-19 health protocols. “This is to build empathy among the community,” he added.
