SOE Ministry Speeds Up Project of More COVID-19 Referral Hospital

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Ministry is preparing an additional hospital specifically treating Covid-19 patients in Simprug, South Jakarta. The hospital, which was developed by PT Wijaya Karya, is planned to have 300 rooms.
“It will be completely built within two weeks,” said SOE Deputy Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in a joint meeting of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VI, VII, and IX on Tuesday, May 5. The construction has now entered its first week and is expected for completion next week.
Previously, the SOE Ministry had also built a special facility for coronavirus patients at Pertamina Jaya Hospital, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. The hospital has a total of 165 special rooms and was built in two weeks.
At present, there is a total of 70 Covid-19 referral hospitals throughout Indonesia with around 7,000 rooms and 600 ICUs. Of the number, 35 hospitals are designated specifically for coronavirus treatment centers with a total of 2,500 rooms.
All special hospitals are also equipped with WHO-standard virus test devices. There are at least 19 PCR test kits distributed to state hospitals in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua Province.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 patients treated at state-owned hospitals amounted to some 2,000 people. On average, the number of inpatients reaches 400-500 people, with additional patients between 50-60 people per day.
