COVID-19 Treatment; UI, RSCM Open Plasma Donation Center

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A team of convalescent plasma researchers from the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) and University of Indonesia’s faculty of medicine on Wednesday opened a plasma donation for recovered COVID-19 patients. The collected plasma will be used for future treatments of coronavirus patients. 

“We started it today. We are open for COVID-19 patients who want to donate their plasma for the sake of future treatments,” said William, RSCM convalescent plasma assistant researcher, on April 29. 

The requirement for donors is that they must be male and over 18-years-old who have recovered from COVID-19 and are confirmed by two negative swab test results. 

“Many have registered themselves. We are now waiting for the equipment to arrive,” said William. 

The convalescent plasma researchers comprise dr. Robert Sinto Sp PD-KPTI, dr. Elida Marpaung, M Biomed, Dr. dr. Cosphiadi Irawan Sp PD-KHOM, Dr.dr. Lugyanti Sukrisman Sp PD-KHOM, Dr. dr. Andri MT Lubis Sp OT, and Siti Rizny F Saldi, Apt, MSc.
