Wishnutama Asks Tourism Industry to Prepare for Post-pandemic

28 April 2020 20:46 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio predicts there will be a sudden surge of activity in both the domestic and international tourism industry after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic gradually resides.

“This is why I call for the tourism and creative economy industry to prepare themselves upon welcoming the reemergence of the economy in this sector,” Wishnutama wrote in his Instagram post on Tuesday, April 28.

The research regarding the COVID-19 spread across multiple studies, says the minister, predicts a drop will arrive as early as June.

However, Wishnutama reminds us that these scientific predictions will only come to fruition depending on how people abide by numerous government protocols to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

He also mentions the president’s orders for state ministries to reallocate budgets in handling the pandemic, asserting the government’s intention to save the country’s economy and people’s health and safety.

“Hopefully, the pandemic will soon end so we can witness the tourism and creative economy industry rise even stronger than ever,” Wishnutama wrote.
