Contact Tracing Launched on 43 Santri Exposed to COVID-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Magetan Regency administration in East Java is reportedly initiating a COVID-19 contact tracing on the 43 Islamic boarding school students, or santri, who originated from Malaysia.
The santri that are positive for the coronavirus is currently residing at the Al-Fatah Pesantren (boarding school) in Temboro.
“We have instructed Magetan Regency’s COVID-19 task force to contact trace the people and rapid test those that are at the Temboro boarding school, especially the students from Malaysia,” said Magetan Regent Suprawoto in coronavirus emergency meeting on Monday.
The contact tracing, he said, will trace the people that came into contact and interacted with the dozens of the Malaysian santri as they arrived in Indonesia.
He also encouraged local administrations to be transparent in providing information regarding this case to help control the spread of COVID-19 in the area of Magetan.
