TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Employment, Transmigration and Energy Office has temporarily suspended 23 businesses in a sudden inspection on Thursday, April 16, for violating the Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy, geared to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The 23 businesses will remain suspended until the end of the PSBB period,” said Chief of the Jakarta Employment, Transmigration and Energy Office, Andri Yansah in Jakarta, on Friday, April 17, 2020.

As stipulated by Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) Number 33 of 2020 Article 10, only eleven business sectors are allowed to operate during the implementation of PSBB. The 23 businesses that violated the social restriction policy did not operate in any of the 11 sectors.

The eleven business sectors are health, food supplies/ food/ beverage, energy, communication and information technology, finance, logistics, hospitality, construction, strategic industries, basic services, public utilities/ industries that are designated as national vital objects.

In addition to the 23 businesses that were suspended for operating during the Covid-19 restriction period, 126 businesses have also been given a warning.

Andri warned all businesses to comply with the regulations in the Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) Number 33/2020 Article 10, as he sees the coronavirus transmission is alarming.

"It's better to just stay home. The position (of transmission rate) is already alarming," he said.

The Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Jakarta Employment, Transmigration and Energy Office, noted that 200 businesses continue to operate during the PSBB period, after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Industry.
