TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Online ride-hailing company Gojek and digital healthcare company Halodoc were set to hold free rapid tests to detect the coronavirus (COVID-19) for the public as initial screenings.
Both startup firms also cooperated with Mitra Keluarga Hospital that will act as the medical team and Kemayoran Complex Operator Center (PPKK) as the host.
The healthcare platform CEO Jonathan Sudharta said risk assessment in the form of mass rapid testings played an important role in suppressing the virus transmission.
“With the technology, Halodoc wants to ease the public to have initial screening that is easy and accurate, and this complies with the physical distancing order in a bid to ensure the security and safety of the people,” said Jonathan via a press release on Thursday, April 9.
The drive-through rapid tests are available for people living in Jakarta starting April 10-17, 2020.
Gojek Co-CEO Andre Soelistyo explained that collaboration aimed at helping Indonesian people to access the rapid tests so that the disease could be mapped and its spread could be reduced.
“This is in line with our commitment to being at the forefront in preventing the COVID-19 spread,” said Andre. The rapid tests will be held by complying with the government’s instructions, so it will be prioritized for those who are at great risk of getting infected.
