TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Chairman Jusuf Kalla or JK prepared one million packages of a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) kit to back the community in preventing and mitigating the COVID-19 outbreak.
The aid packages will be distributed in Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and other coronavirus red zones. The packages were prepared by PMI Volunteers along with the Scouts Movement and Alumni of Paramadina University.
“I hope the package will be useful for the people. For the initial stage, we will dispense 500,000 packages," said the former Indonesian vice president in his written release on Wednesday, April 8.
The package includes three cloth masks, two surgical masks, two soap bars, and one tea box, he added.
According to Kalla, PMI will continue assisting the government's efforts in handling the COVID-19 crisis. “We will continuously spray disinfectants. PMI has prepared its fleets and volunteers for this program,” he said.
