Jakarta COVID-19 Emergency Status Extended as Cases Climb to 885

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta has been dealing with the increasing number of patients with the coronavirus disease of Covid-19. Quoted from the official city page for the pandemic corona.jakarta.go.id, the positive cases in the capital as of April 2, 2020, recorded at 885, from yesterday’s 794 cases.
The fatalities also climbed to 90 people, while patients who have recovered amounted to 52 to date.
The page also displayed that 706 people are waiting to get the screenings, 562 people tested positive are under treatment in the hospital, and 181 people practiced self-isolation.
Additionally, the number of patients under surveillance (PDP) reaches 1,196. In detail, 823 of them are still being treated, and 373 of them have been allowed to return home.
The number of people under surveillance (ODP) since the onset of the outbreak, meanwhile, increased to 2,394 with 498 of them are still being monitored, while the rest have passed the monitoring.
Due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued a gubernatorial decree No. 361/2020 on the extension of the coronavirus emergency response status for Jakarta areas until April 19, 2020. Anies first declared the state of emergency on March 20, 2020.
