Jakarta Records 720 COVID-19 Positive Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government has recorded a total number of 720 COVID-19 cases up until Monday, with 48 people having recovered and 76 having died of the virus.

Based on the information accessible from the corona.jakarta.go.id page, the figure was updated at 8 a.m. local time on Monday, March 30, local time. It indicated a rise of 19 cases from that recorded on Sunday, with 701 cases.

Meanwhile, an additional nine deaths were reported in comparison with 67 deceased patients as of Sunday.

No changes were reported in the number of recovered patients, with 48 people on Sunday and Monday. Moreover, 445 COVID-19 positive patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital, while 151 patients are under independent isolation.

As many as 2,289 people under surveillance (ODP), were recorded in the Jakarta area. Of the total figure, 498 patients are yet being monitored, while 1,791 patients have completed the surveillance period.

Meanwhile, 1,046 people are listed as patients under surveillance (PDP). Some 708 people are under treatment, while 338 were declared negative with COVID-19 infection and were allowed to go home.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had earlier stated that the status of emergency response in the capital city related to the coronavirus outbreak was extended until April 19.

"Restrictions are ongoing, so the emergency response status has been extended, from April 5 to April 19," he remarked.

He further clarified that the ranks of government, Regional Police, and Regional Military Command and civilians will continue to work at home.

Moreover, Anies Baswedan stated that tourist attractions in the capital will also be closed for extended periods. Teaching and learning activities will also continue to be modified.
