TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ordered his staffers to set up a quarantine site for people developing symptoms of being infected with the new coronavirus which caused Covid-19.
Anies requested that the isolation place must be far from public residential areas. "If there are people who have symptoms or are categorized as persons or patients under monitoring (ODP or PDP) and must exercise self-isolation, we will help them by setting the place outside the public settlement," said Anies during a press conference at City Hall, Central Jakarta on Monday, March 30.
Anies also urged neighborhood units (RT) and community units (RW) to identify groups vulnerable to carry the virus, especially those aged over 60 years, people with congenital diseases such as heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes.
The governor opined the Covid-19 case in the capital continued to be alarming given the soaring number of patients who were positively infected and even died every day.
Thus, Anies Baswedan called on the residents to be more serious in implementing physical distancing. Moreover, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered large-scale social restrictions.
"Stay at home, be disciplined to keep the distance, protect yourself, family, neighbors. Protect all," he asserted.
