TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 emergency hospital set in the former Asian Games athlete’s dorm known as Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, has already received patients and is currently treating 208 of them within the last three days of operation.
”The first day saw 74 patients admitted while on March 25 saw 178 patients. As of today, there are 208 patients,” said Kodam Jaya military command Commander, Maj. General Eko Margiyono at the national disaster mitigation agency (BNPB) on Thursday, March 26.
The hospital was fully operational on March 23 to accommodate growing coronavirus patients and was designed to ease the pressure from other hospitals. The Wisma Atlet Kemayoran is able to accommodate 3,000 people in its current condition.
The hospital consists of in-hospital treatment facilities and dedicated isolation facilities. It is also aimed to treat positive coronavirus with low-to-medium symptoms. ”Patients with severe symptoms will be referred to [another hospital],” said Eko.
Patients can admit themselves to the Kemayoran's Covid-19 emergency hospital or be referred by other hospitals.
