TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir said today that those working in state-enterprises are one of many line-of-work exposed to risks of contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease and understand the fear looming over SOEs employees.
”Am I afraid? Of course, I am, that’s human to feel that way,” said Erick Thohir in a video he posted in his Instagram account on Tuesday.
He called for people to remain at home and work remotely, except those who cannot do so. ”Stay at home, adapt daily activities to be done at home. I understand there are some who do not have the luxury to work from home, but this lies the challenge within the SOE,” he said.
Through this video, he assured the public that state-owned enterprises will remain committed to provide its best services amid the coronavirus pandemic which still adheres to health protocols.
He then encouraged workers managed under his ministry to maintain good health and thanked the dedication shown by workers in the field that are directly into contact with people in such urgent times such as medical workers, technicians, drivers, security personnel, flight attendants, heavy machinery operators, and so on.
”For every single SOE employee in the front line in public services, keep up your spirit. Insyallah (By God's will) God will bless us with great health and safety,” said Erick Thohir as he finished his speech.
