Jakarta Covid-19 Emergency; CGV to Temporarily Close Its Cinemas

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CGV Cinemas will close all of its movie theaters in Jakarta following the Covid-19 emergency period in the capital. CGV Director Dian Sunardi Munaf said the closure will starting on Monday for the next 14 days.
“The temporary closure is based on Jakarta’s effort in preventing and mitigating the risk of Covid-19 transmission and protecting the health of the people,” she said in a written statement Saturday, March 21.
Dian said his office provides refund for the customers who purchased movie tickets online through CGV call center at 021-2920-0100 or via email callcenter@cgv.id.
The ticket refund through CGV partners such as Traveloka, Bookmyshow, and TIX ID will soon be processed by each of the partners.
CGV Cinema prioritizes the safety, health, convenience of the customers and it has been performing mitigation steps of curbing the spread of coronavirus, among others, by increasing the health and hygiene of the cinemas and educating its staffs about the prevention of the virus transmission.
Dian added that her office will maintain to monitor the development and the latest update about coronavirus and will follow the preventive measures based on the instructions from the central and provincial government, as well as the management of the shopping centers where CGV cinemas are located.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially announced the capital will operate under the Covid-19 emergency status as of Friday, March 20, which will be effective for the next 14 days and may be extended depending on future developments.
The press conference also announced that the Jakarta Tourism Agency has closed all entertainment businesses run under the local government since the past week and urges others to do the same starting on Monday, March 23, 2020.
