TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 spokeswoman for the Yogyakarta administration, Berty Murtiningsih, announced that the 3-year old toddler who tested positive for coronavirus in the region has recovered and released from the hospital on Thursday. The toddler is Yogyakarta’s coronavirus Case 01.
“A positive news today. Case 01 (toddler) has tested negative twice with promising health and is allowed to return home,” said Berty on Fridaym March 20.
The toddler from Umbukharjo was first admitted and isolated at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital on Monday, March 9, and underwent tests on March 13 which determined the toddler’s status. Both parents who accompanied their child had previously traveled to Depok, West Java.
The parents had tested negative for coronavirus and are also permitted to leave the hospital despite being under the hospital’s monitoring. They are also urged to commit to self-isolation and contact the hospital once they show symptoms.
The toddler’s recovery cuts the number of patients in the region which on Thursday, March 19, recorded four positive cases, 37 under monitoring, and 15 tested negative.
“Continue to follow the government’s instructions to limit outdoor social activities,” said the Yogyakarta COVID-19 spokeswoman.
