Indonesia Calls for Volunteers to Assist COVID-19 Task Force

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government through State-owned enterprises (SOE) Ministry is calling for volunteers, medical or non-medical personnel, to join the COVID-19 task force. The assistance is expected to help the mitigation of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
“SOE Ministry invites national youth to be the task force volunteers in anticipating the coronavirus contagion,” said the palace spokesman Fadjroel Rachman via his Instagram account on Friday, March 20.
He explained that the volunteers would be deployed for logistics and operational affairs needed especially when the virus referral hospitals are overburdened.
As displayed in the picture uploaded by Fadjroel, the requirements to serve as the task force volunteers are:
- Maximum age of 40 years and preferably not married
- Declared healthy with a certificate from the hospital or doctor
- Non-smoker
- Willing to have commitment and responsibility proven with a permission letter from the family (guardian/spouse)
In addition, the protocol for the volunteers are as follows:
- Undergo COVID-19 safety training from Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC)
- Equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Provided with health insurance during duties
- Granted a special appreciation from the government in the form of community service charter.
