TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial administration focused its preventive measures against coronavirus transmission on South Jakarta given the highest risk of the virus spreading in the region based on the disease distribution map.
The statement was conveyed by Suharti, the governor's deputy for population and settlement control, during a meeting presided over by Governor Anies Baswedan on Tuesday, March 10. The footage of the session was posted on a Youtube channel belonging to the Jakarta Communication and Informatics Agency.
“As shown in the data, the highest transmission risk is in South Jakarta, so close surveillance support is necessary,” said Suharti.
Suharti outlined several points that posed the risk of the virus spreading: one point in Setiabudi, two points in Pancoran, three points in Mampang Prapatan, and two other areas that are unspecified.
Based on the city’s coronavirus mitigation page, corona.jakarta.go.id, the number of people placed under observation and monitoring increased in the last three days from 138 to 180 people and today reached 190 people.
Besides South Jakarta, the city administration also mapped areas with coronavirus transmission spread: two points in North Jakarta including Penjaringan; one point in Kembangan, West Jakarta; two points in Central Jakarta, and one point in East Jakarta.
Suharti asserted that the mapping of the coronavirus transmission areas was aimed at controlling the virus spread. The Jakarta administration used the data to design a simulation modeling for further mitigation programs.
