TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Admiral Yudo Margono announced that the 188 Indonesian crew members of the World Dream cruise ship are ready to be sent home as their observation period at the Sebaru Kecil Island, Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu), is nearing an end.
“As of Friday, the observation of the crews will be completed with each and every one of them in a healthy physical state,” said Yudo at Kelapa Island located in the Seribu Island archipelago on Thursday, March 12.
The Indonesian crews were quarantined on the island for 14-days since February 28, after being evacuated from the COVID-19-stricken ship.
According to Yudo Margono, the crew members will return to Jakarta on Saturday, March 14, where they would be transported aboard Navy ship KRI Semarang-594 destined for the Tanjung Priok military command dock in North Jakarta.
Out of the 188 Indonesian World Dream cruise ship crews, 60 percent of them come from Bali’s Province with most of them working as cooks.
