TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Jakarta Police Station deployed hundreds of personnel, two water canon cars and a barracuda vehicle to guard rallies held by labors to reject the Omnibus Law bill today. The labors plan to hold rallies in front of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council and the City Hall.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Heru Novianto said the workers' demonstration aim was to convey aspirations related to the rejection of the Omnibus Law Bill.

Heru explained that the action will be carried out on Jalan Merdeka Selatan in front of the City Hall and Jalan Kebun Sirih in front of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Building. Central Jakarta Regional Police have prepared 450 personnel to secure the rally, several barracuda and water canon vehicles have been placed in front of the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) building and City Hall.

Heru added the estimated mass is 600 to 800 people and the rally started at 11:00 to 16:00. "The mass came at 11:00," he said.

The rejection of the Omnibus Law continues to come from various elements of society such as academic workers to students. President Jokowi ensured the government and the House of Representative (DPR) were open to input from various parties related to the Cipta Karya Bill.
