TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Persahabatan General Hospital announced that it has isolated eight people suspected to have been infected by the 2019 coronavirus, also known as Covid-19. The hospital's director, Rita Rogayah, said they are waiting for the patients' swab test results to see if they tested positive or negative.
"We are still waiting for eight results from the swab test," Rita said in a press conference held at the hospital in Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, March 10.
Rita said that there were initially 13 patients under observation for possible infection. Three of them tested positive, while two tested negative and were allowed to go home.
The three confirmed patients are case 14 (50), case 18 (55), and case 19 (49). They are among the 13 new confirmed cases of the Wuhan coronavirus in Indonesia, as announced by the government on March 9.
In total, Indonesia now has 19 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection.
Five of those cases are treated at the Persahabatan Hospital. They are case 5 (56) and case 6 (36), as well as cases 14, 18, and 19.
