Police Probe Alleged Graft of Land Purchase for Zero DP Housing

10 March 2020 18:38 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe National Police were reportedly investigating an alleged corruption case in the land purchase committed by Jakarta-owned developer PD Sarana Jaya.

“Yes, we are still asking for clarification [about the case],” said the National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono on Tuesday, March 10.

Argo explained that his side had sent a summon letter to PD Sarana Jaya in light of the investigation on a corruption case and money laundering related to the asset purchase in 2018-2020.

The case, Argo added, was still being examined and no suspect had been named yet. “It’s still under investigation,” he said.

As widely reported, Jakarta provincial administration trusted PD Sarana Jaya to handle strategic development projects in the capital, such as the development of Tanah Abang primary center area and the zero-percent down payment housing project.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had launched the groundbreaking of the zero DP housing project in Klapa Village, Pondok Kelapa, Cilangkap, East Jakarta in 2019.
