Jokowi Welcomes King and Queen of Netherlands at Bogor Palace

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomes Netherlands King, Willem Alexander and Netherlands Queen, Maxima Zorreguita Cerruti at the Bogor Palace, West Java, Tuesday, March 10, 2020. They were welcomed by a ceremony in the palace courtyard.
The ceremony opened with 'Indonesia Raya' and Netherlands National song 'Wilhelmus'. They continued with a group photo session and the signing of the guest book.
After chatting for a while, Jokowi and King Willem then plant a tree in one of the Bogor Palace courtyards.
From Tempo's observation, Jokowi was seen driving with the King and Queen of the Netherlands using the RI 1 mini golf cart. Jokowi sit behind the wheel with King Willem beside him. Meanwhile, Queen Maxima sit in the back row accompanied by Iriana Joko Widodo. They seemed to be chatting along the road to the tree planting location.
After planting Cendana tree, they went inside the palace for a bilateral meeting. There, Jokowi and King Willem parted ways with Queen Maxima and Iriana.
Before visiting Jokowi, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima Zorreguieta Cerruti visited the Kalibata Public Cemetery, South Jakarta. This is the first visit of the Netherlands King and Queen to Indonesia.
