13 More Confirmed Coronavirus Cases Bring Total to 19: Govt

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government today, March 9, announced 13 more confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus or known as COVID-19 infection in Indonesiabringing the total to 19.

“The current total cases in Indonesia reach 19,” said Achmad Yurianto, the spokesman for the virus handling at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Monday, March 9.

For details, Yurianto outlined that Case 07 is a 59-year-old woman. “Her condition seems to be in mild to moderate state. She just returned from abroad then underwent a health examination with PCR four days ago that came back positive,” he said.

Case 08, he added, was a 56-year-old man who was infected by Case 07 as they were husband and wife. He received infusions and oxygen and had a pre-medical record of diabetes. “He is moderately ill.”

Case 09 is a woman, 55, who also has a travel history aboard. She is mild-moderately ill.

“Next, patient number 10 is a 29-year-old male foreigner. He is mild to moderately ill and is linked to Case 01,” he said.

Case 11 is a 54-year-old female foreigner and is linked to Case 01.

Case 12 is a 31-year-old male and mild-moderately ill. He is also related to Case 01.

Case 13 is a 16-year-old who is linked to Case 03.

“Patients identified as Case 14, a 50-year-old man, and Case 15, a 43-year-old woman, have also traveled aboard, while Case 16 is a 17-year-old woman who is related to Case 15,” Yurianto went on.

Moreover, Case 17, 18, and 19 of the coronavirus infection in the country involve a 56-year-old man, a 55-year-old man, and a 40-year-old man, respectively, as they have a travel history abroad as well," Yurianto said.
