TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Another two patients confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19, Case 5 and Case 6, are being treated at Persahabatan General Hospital in East Jakarta.
“We are treating 15 patients, 13 of them are placed under observation and 2 others test positive,” said the hospital's director, Rita Rogayah, during a press conference at the hospital in Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Monday, March 9.
Rita said the 56-year-old man or Case 5 was sent from one of the hospitals in Jakarta and was then isolated at Persahabatan Hospital. She balked at revealing the hospital’s name.
According to her, the patient, who is a Jakarta resident, developed symptoms related to the virus such as fever, coughs, and shortness of breath and was being treated since March 3. However, the patient had no history of traveling abroad.
“He has no travel history abroad. He was infected in Jakarta but had no contact with the virus cases in Depok (Case 1 and Case 2),” Rita explained.
Meanwhile, Case 6 is a 36-year-old male who was a crew member of the Diamond Princess cruise ship that had anchored in Japan.
The national spokesman for COVID-19 outbreak mitigation, Achmad Yurianto, announced earlier two more cases of the new coronavirus, adding the total confirmed cases in Indonesia to 6.
