Hospitals in Riau Treat 6 Coronavirus Suspect Patients

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as six Coronavirus suspect patients are now undergoing treatment at three hospitals in Riau Province.
"The suspect patients of Covid-19 in Riau March 08, 2020, are six people," said the Head of the Riau Provincial Health Office, Mimi Nazir in Pekanbaru, Monday, March 9, 2020.
Those six patients said Mimi, are being treated in three hospitals: Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru, four people; Dumai Hospital, one person; and Puri Hasana Indragiri Hilir Hospital Hospital, one person.
According to Mimi, all patients are treated in the isolation room, to minimalize the contact with other patients although their status is not positive yet.
The swab samples of the patients are being examined in the laboratory of the Ministry of Health's Development Research Agency (Litbangkes) in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Director of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Nuzelly Husnedi, said that the Riau Provincial Government's health facility began to treat a patient from Pekanbaru since Tuesday, March 03, the hospital has taken steps to take patient swaps for investigation.
According to Nuzelly, the process of researching patient samples takes a long time because many samples from other suspected COVID-19 patients have entered. Meanwhile, the government only allows sample research for the disease in the Center for Research and Development. "It turns out because there are a lot of queues," he said.
