TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Admiral Yudo Margono said the evacuated crew members of coronavirus-stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship have been transferred from the Navy’s Dr. Soeharso-990 hospital ship to the Sebaru Kecil Island in Jakarta’s Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu).
“The distance from Dr. Soeharso hospital ship to the Sebaru Kecil island is 1.2 kilometers. There are 68 Indonesian crew members of the Diamond Princess cruise ship. They are evacuated by 10 additional crews from the hospital ship,” said Yudo in a written statement on Friday, March 6.
According to Yudo, the transfer was able to be held on Friday after the weather over Sebaru waters made it impossible for the 68 evacuees to be transferred to the island. He reported that the team did not meet significant hurdles during the process.
He said one person showed questionable blood test results and will be taken to Jakarta to receive intensive medical treatment in an appointed hospital for coronavirus suspects and sufferers.
