TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian railway company PT KAI begins to operate the Rail Clinic to provide health assistance and boost passengers' comfort during their travels while inside the train and at the stations.
PT KAI president director Edi Sukmoro said the Rail Clinic will be in a joint-operation with the inspection train to provide prevention services against the new coronavirus or Covid-19. Both trains will operate at the north and south tracks of Java Island starting March 5, 2020.
"In addition to providing health services to passengers, Rail Clinic officers will also provide briefings and information about the coronavirus, as well as handing out brochures and face masks," Edi said on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
Edi guarantees that all facilities are sanitary—including cars that are routinely cleaned and sterilized with disinfectants. Amenities such as pillows are also changed for each new passenger.
As instructed by the Transportation Ministry, PT KAI also provides hand sanitizers in station facilities and car trains.
