Anies Baswedan, Ridwan Kamil Absent in House Meeting on Floods

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) meeting today on the Jakarta Greater Area (Jabodetabek) flooding disaster saw the absence of Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, and Governor of Banten Wahidin Halim.
The three regional heads overseeing areas within Jabodetabek were represented by provincial government members instead, with Jakarta spatial planning assistant deputy Vera Refina representing Anies, Banten secretary Setiawan Wangsaatmaja representing Ridwan Kamil, and Wahidin was represented by Al Muktabar from the Banten provincial administration.
Leading the meeting, Commission V House Legislator Lasarus said that he regrets the regional heads chose to be absent in the meeting; “Actually, it is the regional heads who we invited,” said the legislator.
Meanwhile, Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Dwikorita Karnawati, head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Bagus Puruhito, and Bogor Regent Ade Yasin were all present in the meeting.
