Military Mobilized in Sebaru Island Coronavirus Quarantine

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commander of the joint territorial defense command I, vice-admiral Yudo Margono said the government has mobilized a joint command team comprised of 762 personnel in the Sebaru Island humanitarian effort which is the coronavirus quarantine site for Indonesians evacuated from the World Dream cruise ship.
“The 762 personnel are the military ship’s crews, additional task forces, supporting crews, and security personnel,” said Yudo in releasing the humanitarian effort at the Military Cross-Sea Command Headquarters in Jakarta today, Feb. 26.
The joint effort team will assist in the quarantine and observation of the 188 Indonesians who were evacuated from the World Dream cruise ship that was loomed by coronavirus outbreak.
These evacuees will temporarily be placed at a facility in the Sebaru Kecil Island located in the constellation of North Jakarta’s Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu). The joint force members will also help in providing the logistics for these people throughout the coronavirus quarantine.
