Fire Breaks Out at DPR Headquarters, Occupants Evacuated

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fire has reportedly engulfed the second floor of the House of Representatives (DPR) headquarters’ Nusantara 3 building this noon on February 24.

The fire caused thick smoke to quickly spread to other areas in the building. 

“[The fire] is confirmed,” said Fire and Rescue Service Agency (PKP), Jono, who was on guard.

According to Jono, the agency has mobilized 18 firefighter trucks to tackle the raging smoke which has reached DPR’s 8th floor. 

“The evacuation of its occupants is ongoing, and so is the opening of ventilation accesses,” said Jono who is yet able to confirm the cause of the fire.
