TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was hesitant to comment on the Indo Barometer survey on the achievements of three Jakarta governors in overcoming problems in Jakarta.
When asked, Anies immediately cut media questions. "That's enough," said Anies at the HI Roundabout, Central Jakarta, on Monday, February 17, 2020. He then left.
Based on the Indo Barometer survey, Anies is inferior compared to other Jakarta governors included in the survey, namely Joko Widodo, and Basuki Tjahja Purnama, also known as Ahok. The public has been asked to provide an assessment to the governors in overcoming Jakarta's problems, namely floods, congestion, the people's economy, health and education.
The survey results said that Ahok, when compared to the other governors, has been considered to be the most successful in overcoming floods in Jakarta with 42.0 percent, then Jokowi with 25.0 percent, while Anies with only 4.1 percent. In overcoming the problem of congestion, Ahok was also the most superior with 35.3 percent, Jokowi 25.3 percent and Anies 8.3 percent.
The Indo Barometer survey was conducted from January 9 to 15, 2020, using a stratified multistage random sampling method involving a sample of 1,200 respondents from all over Indonesia, with a margin of error of ± 2.83 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
The survey was conducted shortly after the floods in Jakarta in early January. Extreme rains that have flushed Jakarta since New Year's Eve have made several areas submerged, further compounded by the arrival of water from Bogor.
