TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto, said that Indonesian citizens from Wuhan who have passed the observation period in Natuna will be health ambassadors in their own respective regions. "They now have become health ambassadors, to also inform the public that they are healthy," Terawan said at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on Saturday, February 15, 2020.
Therefore, Terawan ensured that after returning to their hometown, each of the citizens will be free to do anything they want and will not be monitored by the Health Agency or local government.
"So go ahead if they want to mingle, if they want to see the Java Jazz, go ahead. The Health Agency only helps if they have complaints. No monitoring, they are healthy," Terawan said.
A total of 285 Indonesians from Wuhan had passed a two-week observation period in Natuna. They arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Saturyday afternoon.
Director General for Disease Prevention and Control of the Health Ministry Anung Sugihantono, said that the 285 individuals were accompanied by their local government authorities to be brought home to their hometown.
"There are around 30 repatriation regions. All local governments come for the pick up," Anung said.
