TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police named three Junior High School Students in Purworejo, Central Java, as suspects of a bullying case at school. The video of the event went viral on social media.
"Three students have been named as suspects today," said Central Java Police Chief of Public Relations, Sr. Comsr. Iskandar F. Sutisna, when confirmed in Semarang, Thursday, February 13, 2020.
Iskandar said the perpetrators were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution. However, the three suspects are not being detained since they are minors.
This incident revealed after a video of the three Junior High School students in Butuh District, Purworejo Regency, was circulated on social media.
In the video, three male students beat and kicked a female student in a classroom.
Based on the statement of the suspects, this incident happened after the victim reported the three students to their teacher because she had been extorted by the perpetrators.
