TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Depok City Transportation Department said they will intervene four black-spot points or accident-prone areas by installing traffic signs and other supporting tools.
Head of the Depok City Transportation Agency, Dadang Wihana, said that based on indicators issued by the National Police Traffic Corps and data from the Depok Traffic Police Unit, there are four black-spot points scattered.
"Jalan Raya Bogor in Sukamaju and Mekarsari, Jalan Margonda Raya and Jalan Bojongsari," Dadang told Tempo, Thursday, February 13, 2020.
Dadang explained that the black-spot area is an area that in within two years there is accidents with cumulative point of 30.
"Or equal to three accident and three deaths, within two years," said Dadang.
Dadang said that the equipments used to intervene the accident-prone points include shock band, CCTV, public road lighting, zebra crossing, warning light, crossing signs, speed signs and accident-prone signs.
"This year's spending uses the budget from the BPTJ," said Dadang.
In addition, Dadang continued, his party also suggested that the intervention should also be carried out at accident-prone points in Depok City. "Among them in the Jalan Raya Sawangan in front of the golf lake and Saung Telaga Restaurant," said Dadang.
