Taiwan's Formosa Circus Ends Tour in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Even though Chinese New Year has passed, we can still feel the atmosphere in the celebration of arts and culture delegation in the spring festival 2020 Lunar New Year Goodwill Mission Festival. The world performances led by Taiwan's Foreign Community Affairs Council (OCAC).

The festival was enlivened by the performance of the Taiwan Formosa Circus (FOCA). The theme of the show this year is Leaping Taiwan, which held at the Golden sense Restaurant, Mangga Dua Square, Nort Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

"This time, the group (FOCA) has toured in four countries with seven performances in total," said OCAC Chief Secretary Chang Liang-Ming.

The party held by the Jakarta Taiwan Entrepreneurs Association and Taiwan Students Alumni Organization (ICATI). The visit from the delegation of arts and culture is a form of good relations between Taiwan and Indonesia. "For cultural exchanges," he said.

The show in Jakarta is the last tour in four countries; Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. After visited seven previous cities, Jakarta is the eighth-country for the tour.

"The condition of the group (FOCA) is very excellent, this is the best show because it is the last tour," said Chang Liang-Ming.

The Taiwan Formosa Circus showed the creation of Taiwanese youngsters combining traditional and modern culture. The main focuses of this performance are acrobatics, drama and dance, but it also combined with the folk element in a song that tells a story.

"Everything is combined interestingly," he said.
