TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State ferry operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry initiated an event dubbed H(ART)BOUR Festival 2020 to introduce the new face of the Merak - Bakauheni Executive Terminal. It is an art activity that involves a number of artists that can be enjoyed by residents of Jakarta and surrounding areas.
H(ART)BOUR 2020 Festival is themed "Memory Harbor,'' taken from the name of a Jack B. Yeats painting about old memories shared by passengers of a ship. This family-friendly festival encapsulates the values of the artwork.
"This art festival invites us to redefine the meaning of the port as no longer a transit port, but rather a destination for every terminal visitor," said Corporate Secretary of ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Imelda Alini, through an official statement as quoted by Antara, on Monday, February 10, 2020.
"The harbor, like art, is a point that can spark the imagination, the possibility of exploration, new places and experiences. Thus, it can create new memories for the people," said Imelda.
H(ART)BOUR Festival begins with the Visual Arts Exhibition in the Sosoro Merak Executive Terminal and the Anjungan Agung Bakauheni Executive Terminal from December 21, 2019, to February 21, 2020.
The art exhibition displays artworks that represent Lampung's art and culture. A number of artists exhibiting their works are Olopolo (artist), Lala Bohang (artist, writer), Ruth Marbun, Serrum (artist, art handler), Silly in Art/Slinat (Balinese street-artist), WD - Wild Drawing (muralist), Wulang Sunu (illustrator, puppeteer, graphic designer, animator), Yosia Raduck (illustrator), and Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie (writer).
