TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Batam Port Health Quarantine Office (KKP) said that they did not find any clinical symptoms of Coronavirus from a family, that originated from Tanjungpinang, who had just returned from Singapore.
Riau Islands Regional Police Chief Commissioner Muh Haris explained that the Batam KKP team, led by Achmad Farhani together with Tanjungpinang KKP team, went straight to the house of the six Indonesian citizens to check on their situation.
"According to the health protocol, the Indonesian citizens were observed at their home. The health check team from the KKP and the Ministry of Health monitored their health," said Haris, Sunday, February 9, 2020.
The team inspected the family with the assistance of the Director-General of P2P of the Ministry of Health. It was concluded temporarily that clinical symptoms of Coronavirus have not been found on any of the family members.
In Singapore, until this February 5, there were 24 people infected with the Coronavirus. One Indonesian citizen was also known to be exposed to the virus in Singapore.
The plan, said Haris, was that health workers would conduct a throat swab test to these six people from Tanjungpinang and then check it to the laboratory to get the results and ensure their conditions.
Haris said that health workers will continue to monitor the health development of the family from Tanjungpinang. "It is hoped that people will remain calm and carry out activities as usual while maintaining a healthy lifestyle and eating patterns and exercising," he said.
