Kobisonta, Maluku Province Struck by Series of Earthquakes

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Maluku Province’s coastal region of Kobisonta is reportedly hit by two aftershocks following the first 3.9-magnitude earthquake which hit the region early Sunday, February 9, at 02:39 Indonesia Western Time (WIB).
Sunday morning’s initial earthquake was followed by a 4.4-magnitude aftershock at 22:09 WIB. The latest struck on Monday, February 10, with an aftershock that was recorded at 4.1-magnitude.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake originated 28-kilometers north of Kobisonta and came from the depth of 14-kilometers (2.73 south latitude - 129.94 east longitude).
