TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South Tangerang City will be traversed by a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) route. According to South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rahmi Diany, the current progress in the MRT project in South Tangerang is the completion of a pre-feasibility study done by PT MRT Jakarta. The result, she said, would be handed over through the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency.
“Then, the hope is for a follow up. There will be several stages before the Public-Private Partnership (KPBU) and later, there will usually be a regulation in regards to the inclusion of the construction of the MRT as a strategic national program," Airin said in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
Airin claimed that she is still waiting for the decision of the Banten Provincial Government, as the project involves both Banten and Jakarta Provincial Governments.
“We will just follow (the procedure) because there are two boundaries of Jakarta and South Tangerang of the two provinces of Jakarta and Banten (respectively). Who will be the PIC for the project; we will have to wait and see. If the city government is happy, we will wait for the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub)," she said.
Thus far, the routes planned to be traversed by the South Tangerang MRT includes Lebak Bulus-Ciputat-Pamulang-
“(The routes planned) are still pre-FS, later, (the project) will proceed with the FS and see what is needed, including land acquisition, which will be discussed according to the capabilities of each region," she stated.
